Going Private

I have decided to go private because of some of the creepy posts that other friends have been getting. Cody has been asking me to do it for a while but I am finally going to do it. Please send me your address so that I can add you to my blog even if you don't have your own blog but like to keep up with Casa Castaneda. :)

Utah Trip and 5th Anni for Cody & I

Wow Cody & I have been married 5 YEARS already! I can't believe it! Here is a short timeline of our togetherness...

"hang'n out"

Our first official date ;)

Boyfriend/girlfriend

Falling in love...

Meeting the Parentals...

Engagement...

Marriage...

Cody & I had our 5th Anni on June 4th. We had to celebrate the day before with a nice dinner out to Babbo's (soooo goood). I love him sooo much & I was sad we couldn't spend the actual day together but I have eternity so we made do. The reason we had to do that was because I had to catch a flight right after work on the 4th to go to Utah with some of my sisters. :)

We headed up there to Vernal, UT where they just dedicated a newly converted Temple to attend a beautiful family sealing of my cousin Sean & his wife Gentry & their cute kids!

It was so touching & I was glad to witness it.

My fam that was able to make it. (From the Gavin side)

We also threw my sis Aubrey a Baby shower while we were there too. By we I mean we mostly just helped my oldest sis Carla who has magic fingers and can throw a great party together in no-time!

Aubrey lives in Farmington, Utah and is due with her baby girl this week and it is her first girl so she was in much need for some pink-ness in the baby stuff department! It was great & since we flew we packed her party in a bag and it worked out fab. We had a lot of fun! Carla made the invites & the most scrum-diddly-umptious cinna-buns ever that were literally the size of my face...to represent Aubrey's big baby that was full term weeks ahead of schedule! Her baby girl is ripe & ready so I am not sure why she is still in there actually. :)

My sis Carla

3 preggo sisters on the little love seat...

Chanda, Aubs & me

We also made Aubs this sweet necklace that she had to wear too!

We also took a few shopping trips while up there and did some people watching. Here was my favorite...I couldn't help but take a pic...hot Pink denim shorts this dude is sport'n! (They were even shorter in the front if you can imagine) Yeesh! I thought they were pretty sweet! ha ha!

As always Utah was great! & The weather was beautiful! We also had wonderful hosts (Nate & Deacon) Nate is such a great cook!

It is always fun to visit Aubrey & her little fam & I can't wait for them to move down here in July! I am sooo excited! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

And to top off the trip, when I got back home I came in the door and my cute little hubby bought a song off of itunes and played it for my homecoming... "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone" it was so adorable & made me smile. He is sooo totally not the romantic type which he will fully admit so it was extra special to me...he is such a sweetie!

Happy 5th Anni Cody!

May Memories!

Well being preggo I just don't feel like blogging...or maybe it has nothing to do with that and one could call it LAZY? Anyhoo I am just love'n the feeling of motherhood! It is so exciting everytime the baby kicks! It makes me smile. Also another reason I have not blogged much is cause I have been addicted to Ebay lately too... I sold something and what better to do than spend the money as fast as it came in. I bought a Cricut finally, and then I just keep getting amazing deals on all kinds of cool baby stuff. Cody would come home everyday and with a not so pleasant look, ask what I bought this time... Sooo he has decided to reign me in a little lately which is actually a good thing cause it was scary there for a bit!HA!

Well here is my updated pic...finally. Currently at 5 1/2 mo. & I am so excited!!! I even chopped off 7 or 8 inches off my hair cause I hear thats what prego ladies do. ha!

My baby's daddy at 5 1/2 mo...it still hasn't hit him yet lol! He sees my tummy getting biigger but it is not real for him yet...Don't worry I will be sure to post his after pic face. :) LOL!

Memorial day party at Mom & Dad's! So fun!

Dad being the best grandpa ever!

Carla & Brig and thier girls

some of the cousins

alot more of the cousins!

Here is a pic of the "chatty kathy's" at the party...alot of talk of landscaping tips and grill'n...good times! :)

Monica & Jim came down too it was a great fun family day & we are so blessed to be in this free country that was given to us by all the hard working soldiers!

A birthday surprise ...Oh Boy!

Well I turned the ripe ol age of 25 yesterday the 19th and today 4/20 I finally found out what we're having! I was so wanting a little girl, but with Cody's genes I tried not to get my hopes up. How in the world do I raise a little boy though!?! I was so excited regardless of the gender...I suppose I am just scared is all. lol! Cody says I am not allowed to paint his fingernails or put pretty bows on him! So what can you do with a little boy I say?!! :) Not too sure but I will have fun figuring that out!

Here is the proof that its my little guy!

April Fool's

This year I got 2 people for April fool's, my Hubby and a co worker... Nothing big for Cody this time (like the year I told him I was born a hermaphrodite) I just scared him a little with a fake HOA violation letter ...and I got him good. With my co-worker though, I did go all out. This girl I work with has had some hard struggles with her ex-hub who took everything in the split so she has not had a car for a while until recently, when she was able to get enough money aside to buy one to get her around. Anyway we joke around with each other and prank each other all the time... So for A.F. I had been gathering info casually from her weeks prior like make & model of her new vehicle, who she bought the new car from...etc. When 4/1 came I had another co-worker call pretending to be Glendale PD and state that her car was used in an ongoing murder investigation and that the man she bought if from admitted to using it to transport his victim. I had the "officer" state that he would need to arrange a pick-up of the vehicle for evidence pending the close of the investigation. At that point in the call she fell HARD to her knees & started sobbing hysterical saying "No please no!" with the phone in hand. she said to the "Officer" how she wasn't involved in the murder & swore she didn't know the guy & that she thought he was crazy too. And then she (still crying) begged for him not to take the car cause it was the only way she could visit her daughter. This all happened in a matter of a min. so when I realized how upset she was & how it had gone seriously wrong...I had someone go hang up the call she was on so my co-workers & I could say April fool's since it seemed that I kinda went too far. At this point though I felt like a horrible person so I wasn't sure how to go about telling her it was just a hoax. But anyhoo we told her it was a joke & she immediately stopped crying & started laughing and stated how great of a joke it was and that she was honored & couldn't wait to tell her fam & friends! Luckily she took it well cause I felt so awful! I was not expecting her to break-down like she did. Next A.F. I will have to tone it down a little bit I think & not push anyone over the edge like that!

NY trip...Feb 26th thru March 2nd

Our New York visit was just as fun as expected! Cody and I have been a couple of times with family and we always have fun but it was a great experience going with a fun group of friends as well! We stayed in Time square at the Double Tree, which I would highly recommend to anyone who is planning on going. Amy & I stayed at this Hotel chain on our senior class trip in Cali so we were wondering if they were going to serve us warm cookies on our pillow cases again...much to our delight we got to have them as soon as we got there and again during our stay. They are so yummy I think I would like to stay there just for the cookies alone! ;)
Also anyone who is planning on going should take one of these...
Its called a Toni Chase. She researches EVERYTHING for you, finds the best options, plans out everything that would be included in a great site seeing vacation, and she will even be your personal photographer! LOL (my camera sucks!) As tourists there was not much left that we regret not seeing so she did a fabulous job as our tour guide! Thanks again T!

We went with three other couples which made for an exciting time & never a dull moment! Each couple had ideas of good places to visit in NY so we got to do alot which was cool.

Cody being silly at Serendipity home of the best frozen hot chocolate! My fav. mmmm

Toni & Hugh Chase

Amy & Kort Chase

Bonnie & Kamon Farmer

Cody & MEEEE!

The whole gang on our Statue of Liberty cruise

The original torch

THe lady herself

It was so cold that day!!! like soooo cold I could NEVER live there! AHHHH! I love AZ mmmmwwwahh!

Amy agrees

That statue chick kept hitting on my man!

After the Statue cruise we split for a bit...

A&K went back to base, K&B & H&T went to the Brooklyn bridge, & Cody & I went to Ellis Island to find some of my ancestors.

It was neat to see (in this pic) that the church was a big sponsor in the Ellis Island project.

We had to go shopping at Macy's a new NY moment for me. Cody got himself a new suit and while he was in the private dressing rooms he saw Robert Downey Jr. in there. Only celeb seen the whole trip. Last time we were in NY he saw Tara Reid. He is a celeb magnet I think. I never see them nor am I really looking but it was still cool.

Cody's pick for site seeing...

Wall street

These guys with the guns do not mess around...the lady that took pics with them before us made peace signs in the picture and the guy to Amy's right grabbed the camera and erased it and said she could not do that. VERY serious...lol!

Had to give the bull a good kick'n to hopefully get the market back on track. If it starts to get better you have me to thank.

Cody with his bull...
He is a Wall Street Kinda guy and even has a piggy bank of the bull & the bear. :)

Amy & I riding the fancy shmancy subway lol :) They have really nice murals on all the walls & windows.

We got to eat at several different places when we were in NY it was such a treat to get to go to the Olive Garden! lol

Truthfully there was not a lot of options to eat on Sunday...

You can't really see the glowing sign behind the boys but the girls paid to have the boys names in time square lights for about 15min it was neat and only $5
Cody & his co. :)

Top of the Rock

NY Public Library

We actually had a lot of firsts on this trip. I had never been here before nor Cody.

Cody and his cuddle buddy! lol

Bubba Gump's
Street performers...this little kid was amazing!

A lot of walking
so glad I wore flats!

Me & Bonnie pooped out!

The Shake shack was the trip Favorite! Cody & I ate there 3x
& I have to say they have the best shakes and Hamburgers I have ever had in my entire LIFE! THey were amazing!
WOW
Enough to make you want to have a cold shake & eat in the FREEZING out doors! THats how good they were!

We all took turns showing how much we loved each other in front of the LOVE sign.

We threw ourselves a dance party in the middle of central park!

We also stopped at Magnolia Bakery and mack'ed on some cup cakes! One of my MOST favorite SNL clips features the magnolia bakery. click here! After that we watched the rich kids & their nanny's play at the playground. :)

Voted best of NY...it was OK

Time Square

Cody & me in time square! We loved going with a group of good friends it was so much fun!
It snowed the last day we were there too so it was neat to see NY in the snow which was another first for me. :) YAY FOR FUN!

Everybody do the Tim Tam Slam!

Ok so my sis Aubrey and her hubby took a trip not too long ago to Australia where her hubby Nate served his mission. When they came back they brought a case of the most delicious treat with them! The Tim Tam! I remember the euphoric feeling like it was yesterday as I slammed for the first time with a warm cup of milk. ...Well thanks to good ol Hugh Jackman an actor who comes from down under...these amazing little snacks have made it to a Target shelf near you. It is under Pepperidge Farms (the US sister name for Arnott's) but it is still called the Tim Tam & I am sure it will taste the same too. I am making a special trip today to go get some. They said they will only be available a limited time to appease Mr. Jackman's request, but if they do well they may remain permanently. If you want to experience the joy for yourself here is the site to get a dollar off the magnificent little biscuit. If you don't know how to slam them you can get instructions here by Natalie Imbruglia. The only difference is that we use warm milk or hot chocolate since we don't drink tea.

Ok so now that I have talked it up so much, some of you may try it & think no big deal...but I DOUBT it! They are AMAZING! So come on mates & do the TIM TAM SLAM!

Preggers finally! & a Catching up-date!

Wow so I guess its about time I update...after all, Paige's "P" party was back in Jan. so yeah I am sucking a bit on the blog scene. I think I have a good reason though...I am Prego! Yay! Its about time right? Cody & I will celebrate out 5yr Anni in June so I'd say were due for a little one. I am at my 3month mark exactly which is a month further along than the last time. Plus I wasn't sick last time which is probably why it didn't work out. So even though I have morning sickness ALL the DAY LONG! I know its for the best. Here is the pic. I won't show you the 3D one cause it freaked me out! I saw the developing brains and everything. Alien goo!ahhhh! But the doc said it was perfectly normal. :) SO yay For Baby Castaneda!

We were also able to celebrated the super bowl at Toni & Hughes, here is the before pic...

The after pic... poor Cards! :(

We honestly didn't do much for V-day this year we just went out to Abuelo's. It was so busy & there was a huge wait time...but I was waiting with my Cody so it wasn't too bad. :)

In Feb we celebrated my Grandma Gavin's 90Th Birthday!

This was the party favor for everyone! I love my smokin Grammy!

It caused for a family reunion which was great since it had been years since I had seen some of the fam. I love spending time with them, it makes me sad that my dad's side of the fam all live so far away. :(

I was so happy to be able to have my Cuz Taylor, his wife Jillian, & little Dawson stay with us! It was so good to finally meet his Jill & the little guy, & I just loved catching up...they are such a beautiful family!

I am sad I didn't get a pic of all of them together while they were here so I stole it off her blog :)

(Just the cousins)

I think there was about 60-70 or so all together that were able to make it & we had a blast!

We even had an impromptu Dance Party with the speakers booming from the back of a suburban and cops driving by to check up. It was so much fun. I lovesss to get down with a good jam!

"Jump around!"

Paige and my cousin Cindy Hancock getting down to Nsync.

No, that's not floating disco balls my camera just sucks and make orbs everywhere! Grrr!

I gave my camera to Paige for part of the night and when I got it back there was like 20 different shots of her & her Boy friend on it from their little photo shoot...

...even funnier cause she broke up with him the very next day... ;(

Someone ALWAYS unknowingly dresses the same at any given family function, this time it happened to be my bro Rocky & sis Monica

My Auntie Sherry providing great entertainment for all!

Cuz Tammy & Dolly singing a beautiful song for grandma

My bro Rocky

Cuz Taylor

Such talented boys, they had some great songs to share! I loved hearing them play it was awesome!

Good food, Great people = Lots of FUN!

Happy "P" Party for My Paige!

My youngest sister Paige turned 21 on Jan 17th!

So I decided to throw her a surprise Party at her apartment in Tuscon. She gets home sick away at college so I knew it would be a great gift to have her fam there on her birthday!

It wasn't just any party though...it was a "P" Party! Its not what you think...apparently some of the guests were confused about that. ;) P is for Paige was the theme... ;0)

Everyone that came was to wear pink or purple or wear something that started with P in honor of dear Paige!
(ex. I wore Pearls)

It was great & she had no-idea!

My awesome dad & mom brought their party stuff that I needed to make it fun, like the Pink cotton candy machine, Popcorn machine and outside heater cause we ended up having it at the Pool.

The first part of the party was just a family party with Pepperoni Pizza!

& Chocolate covered Pretzels!

all the sisters came except Aubrey...she couldn't make it from UT :(

The kids had so much fun too!

I put off doing the cake till the last min as always though so I didn't get any sleep the night before & I was dragging the whole time.

I have a new fondant recipe though that is so easy! Normally I buy it by the bucket & it aint cheap so I am really excited about this new method!

I didn't realize it when I bought the candles but apparently they were the trick ones....it took her about 5 or 6 tries to get them all blown out! :)

All the parentals and fam took off when her friends started to arrive... they had to make themselves scarce...that's how the college party goes if its to be successful right? Overall she had about 50-60 of her closest friends show so it turned out great!:)

One girl dressed as a prego lady for her "P" style

The "Pink" ladies also came

This one is Paige's Roomie Kayla who was a huge help to me when planning this. Its funny cause I hadn't met her in person before the party & when I got to Tucson she was wearing this shirt & I was like..."hey cool shirt I have one just like that!" she said...."oh...wellll actually Paige gave it to me." hmmmm Paige doesn't have a shirt like that? hmmmm! :) Oh well! I'm sure its too small for me anyway!

Playing twister for the $ Jackpot........a whole $4 cause I forgot to bring cash! But hey these are starving college kids so I know it was appreciated! lol!

My sis Paige & Sis Monica who also stayed behind to help me during the friends part of the party. Monica is my second oldest sister but doesn't look a day over 23 so she had to put a few of Paige's friends in their place and casually mention she was 11 when Paige was born. lol It was soo funny to see the guys face when he did the math. Plus she was wearing her wedding ring so he got the picture & excused himself.

My nephew Treyton getting use to college life!

Me & my Princess Poodgee!

She decided to thank me in her own way... we're close sisters:)

She said "It was the best Birthday I have ever had in 21 years!" That was good news considering all of the planning & sifting through ALL 700+ facebook Friends to find her closest ones ... luckily those words made it all worth while! :)

Happy Birthday Paige, Love you!

NEW POST of Old STUFF! :)

First I just want to commend anyone who had the motivation to blog over the holidays. I am just now recovering!
We started out our festivities with Christmas eve at my sister Chanda's house where we played a very interesting game of white elephant.

Out of 25 or so participants my little unmarried 17yr old bro Weston happened to pick the one RISKAYYY present that was so thoughtfully donated by my jokester bro-in-law Jim. My Dad wasn't have'n my bro leave with the contraceptives and sacrificed his turn to steal it from Weston.

This is my grandma Gavin telling the Bobadilla's about how she went to school with Barack Obama's mother. (The Bobadilla's are a family my sis Carla met on her mission, that she hosted for Christmas).

My sister Carla & her hubby Bishop Bennett

my sis Aubrey & hubby Nathan...aka "the animals."
Does anyone else have a hard time getting their hubby to take normal pictures!?!
The White-Elephant extravaganza!

My brothers Rocky, Weston & Colton with their feminine wins for the night! Colton was very upset about his gift....he was told it would be a gender-neutral exchange! lol!

Chanda started out with this fine number but Rocky actually chose to steal it away from her!

He was a little more enthusiastic with his feminine takings than Colton was!

He has big plans for it...

Nate hogging the massage chair & my prego sis Aubrey.
Its nice to have a chiropractor in the fam with all our hereditary back problems, but that's not the only reason I visit my sis Chanda & Brian so to prove it I didn't sit in the chair all night! ;)

My Niece Aftynn

The SISTAS!

Carla, Chanda, Monica, Aubrey, Me, & Paige

I love, Love, Love my sisters! They are the best anyone could ever hope for!

Cody, my Dad & Brian

Nieces Brynn-cess & Maci

Isn't this kid cute!?! She is so funny cause she won't go near Uncle Cody and his teasing...

Madison is a little more trusting its seems! She didn't mind hanging with him one bit.

Being this cute they get a ton of pics taken of them by the whole fam & they are soooo over it! The second they see someone whip out their camera they run & hide! Little stinkers!

Both sets of my sister's adopted Twins...

Madison, Taylor, Kennedy, & Maci
(Actually...I have no clue who's who in the middle, I still can't figure them out!)

Christmas Day Eve at my parents house...

My sis Monica & hubby Jim
Jim got the Barbi Mariposa that he asked Santa for so he was a happy boy this year!
Rocky's snowboarding jacket came with secret compartments that held funny stuff inside like the "Do not disturb" sleepy eyes & other fun stuff. So don't even think about purchasing your next Jacket unless it comes with its own tooth brush inside! Ha hA!
My sis Chanda, Brian, & Ethan
My sis Paige & BABY of the fam bro Weston

Cody holding the STUD-finder to his chest while waiting for it to start beeping...he didn't open his stuff that was in his stocking so I had to pack it up & take it to my parents house for him to open cause he didn't even check his stocking Christmas morning! I even made this cute little hanger thingy shown below, but it wasn't enough to lure him to check it...
The day after Christmas we took off to Thacher to visit Cody's Mom, Gene & Gma Katie, Gmpa Dillard!!! :)
The drive there is always so BEAUTIFUL!

And it snowed!

Cody & Grandma Katie

Grandpa Dillard, Bro Matt (trying to get an extra facebook tag) & ma-in-law Robyn

Me demonstrating how all of the yummy holiday food went straight to its destination! Hips don't lie!
Cody is so funny...there is a big long couch right next to me when I took this pic but he insisted his 6'4" stature was comfy on this little chair. He was half asleep though so I'm not sure he really felt that way. :) Sooo cute!
And before we left we had to hit up the Amazing R&R! MMMM! I love this place!
Yay! I finally posted Christmas! I am so proud of myself! HA!
Hope everyone had a great holiday season!

Twilight Tatoo Dilema

(Read the comment/solution posted below this girls request it cracks me up!)

My TWILIGHT Christmas Tree!

I have been a good girl this year...soooo Cody bought me the Twilight series as an early Christmas present, but he said I still shouldn't officially get it till the 25th. I decided that I would open it but keep them under the tree as a good compromise. :) Good idea? ;)

Anyhoo I was thinking to myself how sad it will be that they would have to sit under a semi- manly tree with Kobe Bryant on it.

(I don't care for him much)

Though I like him a little bit better since the Olympics, my Twilight books deserve much more! Don't you think? :) So I whipped up a little twi-delight and made myself a pretty tree worthy of such greatness nestled below it! Tee-he-he!

Call me lame, call me obsessed, even make fun of me to your co-workers if you will *ahem(CODY!!!)ahem* ...but I had too much fun making it to regret it! Ha! :0)

I tried to incorporate as much of the books as I could,

& I swear I didn't spend much at all! I got the big balls at the $ store and painted them and stuck some vinyl lettering on them (thanks Carla).

I even made the four mini-book ornaments!

I counted out & made sure they each had at least 700 pages!

...jk I really did not count them out. ahhahah

& Lastly I made an Alice-worthy bow to top it off.

Cody thinks its silly & I should sell it and buy him rock-band with the $ I earn instead of paying out of pocket for his gift! HA! I won't though...One, because I would be too scared of the copy-right laws & TWO, He just doesn't know what he would be missing until it was gone! ...right?

I am thinking maybe I should put Bella's lullaby on and "rock around the Christmas tree" to make it even more exciting!

Anyone want to rock out with me! Ahahah! lol!

We headed to Thatcher & kicked off the holiday with some golf...He played and I watched.

He did really well as always & his team got 1st place! Individually he placed 2nd but would have been first if not for a sandbagger! :(

(sandbagger=cheater/lied about handy-cap).

What a cutie!
After golfing we grabbed a bite to eat on the golf coarse! So good! I have NEVER had better french fries than these! Seriously they are awesome!

Thanksgiving round one was at Cody's Uncle Danny's house. We had a blast and way too much to eat! His cuz Krista opened an awesome cake business so I really enjoy hanging out there, we always have lots to talk about.

Uncle Rocky's B-day party...happening place I know! Half the party-goers were sick including Uncle Rocky! :(I was a lucky one until I started running around with the wrong crowd...
Macie the culprit! This one right here, its all her fault! :0)

All the weight I gained from Thanksgiving I lost on Sunday. She is so cute I can't really be mad, but I'm pretty sure she is the reason I was sick to my stomach all day. Her whole immediate fam got sick from her & then me because I could not resist playing with her!

Round 2: Family gathering/reunion at Uncle Paul's! :) Always the Sat after Thanksgiving...
They are such wonderful people we had a lot of fun hanging out with them and the rest of the fam in Tucson.
Cousin Jodi, Cody, cuz Nick, & Cody's bro Jathan
Cody & I rock'n out on the Wii

Short clip my hubby's mad skills!

Cody's Dad "Joe Cool" & Stepmom Berta
Cody's Bro Matt breakin out the Wii Fit!

Me, upset when everyone forced me to do the Wii fit test. I ended up beating everyone though! My Wii fit age is 22! Woohoo!
Cody...not so happy about his Wii fit age. :)

I don't think it is very accurate though cause there were quite a few people in better shape than me that scored bad.

Overall I had great fun as always! Hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving!!!

Twilight PARTY 09' & Review~Part 2! Retraction...kinda sorta...ha ha!

Ok so based on the comments I got from my blog review of Twilight and the comments I got on public blogs (ie. moviephone.com/MTV-Twilight News) I decided maybe I was too Debbie Downer & because I had higher expectations for the movie than I thought I did, my review may have been clouded?!? I gave in finally & took the advice many had given me to go & see the movie a second time. I was told by quite a few people that I would like it more knowing what to expect now. I talked a few of the girls at work into reading the books a while ago & so I went the first time with with one and went again today with another. I have to admit (sheepishly) my fellow bloggers were right! It was so much better the second time around!
I was so surprised! I couldn't help but laugh at the same parts though. Like the venom sucking part, still quite a "knee slapper" as Camille described it so well. But overall it was so much better the second time around, I recommend a repeat for anyone who didn't fully enjoy themselves the first time...(ahem...Amy...*cough*cough*) come to the dark side with me.lol :) My sis Monica just started reading the books and when she comes down I am going to go a 3rd time! So you could say I took a "human minute" and had a change of heart! Hardy har har! :0[

P.S. They are going to release the date of the next Movie soon! So I decided I am going to throw a pre-Opening Night PARTY before the first showing which is going to be about a year away...(serious planning ahead I know...ha). I can't hardly wait! So if I am still breathing by then I am going to make this awesome cake I found on the Twilight blog! It is so fun huh! I don't know if I can wait that long to make it though, I might have to make it twice just for fun!

Funniest Costume goes to...

Ok so my sister Monica's blog is always entertaining but it is private so I wanted to share something that made me laugh hysterically so others could fully enjoy!!! I don't think she will mind...this is way too funny to keep private!
She recently went to this Halloween party and this group won the costume contest. It was a couples party...but that didn't stop these folks! Here is by far the best, most creative costume I have seen in a long long time!!!

She said, " This group played the costumes to a T! They were also in character the whole night, and it was a riot. In real life, Nate is married to Nikki (holding his arm), but when Natalie complained that her hubby was working and couldn't come to the party, a plan for polygamy was hatched. Katie's hubby was at home too, so it made for the perfect ensemble." =)

Our FUN October Getaways!

So Cody had this business conference in Atlanta to go to for a few days and I had been meaning to visit my sis Aubrey in Utah for oh say...since she moved there 5 yrs ago! So what better time to go eh since my hubby would be MIA anyway! My mom & I flew out to our destination on Sunday the 19th and we came back Wed. the 22nd. I wish Cody could have vaca'd with me but it was nice to get some sister/mom time in too! The flight there was so short but maybe because I was distracted?? There was some guy on my plane who had a heart attack and they had to call over the loud speaker for any doctors on the plane to make themselves known. Luckily for John (the sick guy) there were two on our same flight. One was sitting across the isle from us. Thankfully the drama didn't delay us much though so don't worry we weren't too inconvenienced. ;) jk We were able to get off shortly after we landed and Aubs was right on time to pick us up. She had a whole list of fun activities planned for us to do! We (mom, Aubrey, me & Deacon) had a lot of fun just hangin out in UT. While we were there we went to the yummy Mrs. Cavinaugh's Chocolate Factory. We took beautiful nature walks... and got to see the seasons changing all around us! Utah is too cold for me but it is soooo beautiful!!!

We watched movies, and went to the duck pond. We took a fun shopping trip up to Park City! Always my favorite activity! :) We helped Aubrey plan her spooky mutual activity at the graveyard... and just before I left we had a fun sisters lunch at Gateway mall where we met up with Jess and Justina at California Pizza Kitchen. I had never eaten there before and the meal Aubs and I split from the menu was soooo good! We got the Carne-asada green chili pizza! mmm! After that Jess and Stina went shopping... and my mom and I went to catch our flight. So sad how fast vacations fly by! :( I feel like I was only gone a day! But it was worth it and my sis and Nate were awesome hosts! Two more satisfied guests of the Hunt Hotel!

Cody 's trip seemed to be pretty fun and eventful as well! His conference allowed him to rub elbows with some very influential people and he got to see some great sights too! He met Jessica Mendoza from the U.S. Softball team, who was a speaker at one of his conferences. He met the HR rep for NBC Studios and also the highest ranked woman in the U.S. ARMY. He also got to visit the worlds Largest aquarium.

Overall he really enjoyed the trip and learned a lot about all the different areas of the company that he works for. I hope maybe next time it doesn't have to be business & we can go to Atlanta together! It looks like fun!

Welcome Back Sister CURTIS!!!

Yay!!! My Jessica is home!!! She has been serving a mission in DC and has finally come back home to me!!!ha ha! Kinda....she just got home late on the 1st and will be here for a couple of weeks before she uproots again & heads for Provo! Booo I say to that, but I know it is whats best for her not me! ha! lol! She is one of the Dawgs key ingredients to having a fun time!
(Jess above teaching us how to shake it!)
We are not complete without her!
The second she got back Amy & I were planning to head over to the Curtis/Cusick house to visit but she called me instead and requested a reunion hike! She hadn't been home even 24hrs from the mission & she couldn't wait! She told us she had been craving a good hike! Cute huh!! lol So our reunion was a top T-bird mountain and we had a good ol time catching up! Then we made plans for her post mission shopping day and went to Chandler Mall Friday. We had lots of fun as she kept accidentally calling us sister...in her sweet missionary voice that I kept teasing her about. :) She really sounds the same though, I love to give my Jess a hard time! :)We also ran into that Mormon American Idol girl, Brook who placed # 5 last year. She was shopping with her mom at the Shade store while we were there. She told us she just got done with the American Idol tour. We got a pic for blog purposes but I think the mom closed Amy's phone before it saved cause it was gone when we looked for it. They were asking Jess how her mission was and the places she went to in DC and then they told us how Brook had been asked to be the spokes person for Shade. They give her Shade shirts for free, and she hasn't even accepted their offer yet! That would be a nice gig eh! Jess got the cutest swimmy there that is modest enough for a "sister Curtis" but still makes her a Jessica Rabbit! :) We also had some Panda & rapped up the day with some Nordstrom rack. Woohoo! We are so excited to have our Jess back!
(Justina, Jess, Me)
Even if for just a short while, before her sister Justina steals her away from us! :)
(Heather, Amy, Katie, Me, Jessica)
Welcome home Sister C! We love you!

Happy Birthday Aubrey!

Ok so I have not been on the computer in a while and as a result I didn't get a chance to do a Birthday post for my darling sister...Slobbery Aubrey! Better late than never eh!

(Eighth Grade)

Aubrey has many names that she has gone by in her life-time... Aubster Lobster, Aubs, Hungry Huggers, Aubbers, Aubrey Mae, Slobbery Aubrey...etc.

When I was little Aubrey was also known to me as my tormentor big sis! She was ALWAYS pulling pranks on me! I remember her asking me if I wanted to play follow the leader once & I was like "Sure!" She said ok stay right behind me (wink, wink) ...as she slowly led me towards a hole that she dug out in the ground filled with rotten milk, dirt sprinkled over the top of it to make it blend in with the ground, and then she stepped right over it and watched me slosh right in it! Ahhhhh...good times!

(Aubrey, me, Colton)

Or there was that one day in high school when we just got home and cars were driving by our busy street and she noticed a hole in the corner of my jeans right on the butt pocket, she decided to hang on to the fabric pocket & pull hard on it down to my ankle, creating my one legged jeans and revealing my granny pannies to the drive-by's! Those were the days I'm tellin ya! ha! Her worst one ever that she pulled was in high school when she wrote a note to me pretending to be a boy that asked me to prom! Cruel huh!!!! I didn't talk to her for days but luckily I got over it and we get to laugh about it now.....Kinda.... :) lol
(Me, Aubrey, Jana)

My sis is one creative cat and a true "life of the party!" We were not one of those very open family's that walk around half dressed in front of each other...but that never stopped Aubrey...she was determined to be all the woman she could be and this pic pretty much sums up her teen years at home (she was always the most well endowed of the 6 girls & she never let us forget). :) She may kill me for this...but I think she had it comin! ha! Here she is in her underwear playing Star wars with our nephew while someone else plays the piano!

Ok so enough baggin on the Aubs right! Truth is she is one great person!!! She has always been very responsible with everything and we all relied on her for alot growing up. She even use to set our dentist appt. & take us younger kids where we needed to be. She would take us to the dollar movies often to catch a double feature and was a great shopping buddie too! She & I got to spend alot of time together growing up since we were only a grade apart so we had most of the same friends and alot of memories together that I find myself still laughing about!
(Basketball '99-'00)
She is truly inspirational and is one of the funniest people I know! And ...she is a great mom and wife on top of that! I know very few people as diligent as she and she is blessed as a result! The world is a better and funnier place because of her!
Love you Aubs! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Happy Birthday Mom! AKA Anita Gavin, A-nita go home, A-nita eat...(just a few of the names she went by)!

Today my mom is 53 years old. Here are a few things about her listed by my sis Monica & me:
1) She was raised on a ranch and used to wear a bikini as she rode around on a horse doing her chores (for shame =)
2) She has castrated many calves in her life.
3) She loves, Loves, LOVES to read. I don't think I know anyone that reads more or enjoys it as much as she does.
4) She had 9 children without an epidural--WOWZERS~!
5) My Dad is still head over heels for her as if they were still in highschool! They met when they were teenagers & not much has changed! Have you ever caught your parents skinny-dipping?!? lol! Awkward!!!

This is her in her High school years...Babalicious! We all used to tease her about this photo every time she got after us if we weren't being modest enough during our teen years. :0) (she excused herself and always said that back in the day everyone had to wear that in their photo).

If you got it...Flaunt It! For many years my mother was known as the lady with big hair & a big family! (Hey! Your hair would stand on end if you had 9 kids too)!

GRANDCHILDREN!!!
ha ha ha!
She is a wonderful grandma & has 13 GK's so far from 4 of her children and there is sure to be many more on the way! :)

Happy Birthday Mom,

I love you!
